In the middle of a global pandemic, far from home and carrying only a suitcase, Maison Allelique took its first breath. Stranded in Thailand, I felt a profound disconnection from the rituals that once grounded me, the quiet moments of care that preserved both body and soul.
Having worked as a paramedic, I had witnessed the fragility of the human body and the weight of illness. I had seen people lose more than health; they lost confidence, identity, and dignity. That same loss now touched me directly, as masks rubbed the skin raw and sanitizers burned the hands, reminding me of the intimate connection between the body, the mind, and our sense of self.
Months later, London offered a quiet sanctuary in South Kensington. Beneath a tree that became my daily refuge, surrounded by palaces, old stones, and the gentle choreography of beauty, I understood what needed to be created.
